Hi everyone,
The bids have been submitted for the redo of the Village. Please go online to see what the plan looks like (google Saratoga, Ca.). The trees in the middle of Big Basin have been removed from the plan because of cost as have the lights in the crosswalk at Starbucks. The lights came in at a quite high amount so will be put off for the time being.

All this will be voted on on the City Council agenda on Wednesday, April 21st at about 7:30 pm.

The Housing Element is being voted on by the Council as it stands with the two story element removed allowing for three stories in the future along Big Basin.

Also on the agenda at the Wednesday Council meeting is the removal of the 100 year old oak in front of City Hall next to the parking lot and the Warner Hutton House. This oak is known as the Fablinger oak and was in the front yard of the Fablinger's farm where City Hall is currently. Our heritage trees are slowly disappearing.

If any of these agenda items interest you please come to the meeting and voice your opinion.

Also events of note are the Arbor Day event at Azule Park, 4 pm Thursday..Earth Day, April 22. A fun day is planned.

SVDC dinner meeting the last Tuesday of the month is cancelled because I am out of town.

Village entrance sign is to be put in place Wednesday April 21st starting at 9am. It is magnificent (my opinion). Many thanks to Marilyn Marchetti and her hard work making the sign possible.

Final figures have not come in from Savor Saratoga; Wine & Wisteria II. Because of the torrents of rain descending on the event at Hakone, the SVDC made only about $4500 which was phenomenal considering. Fortunately there is enough money left over from last year's event so our events will go ahead as planned. Pet Parade is Saturday May 15th and Heritage Day ( 30 historical characters, antique cars) is Saturday, June 19th. All events are planned for the third Saturday of the month in the Village in the future.

Thanks for reading this. Jill
