[SVDC 448] Would anyone like to go??

Hi everyone,
  We are going up to the sign maker's shop on Tuesday morning (Feb. 16th) in Novato (across the Golden Gate) and along the way will look at signs made by this sign maker.  We have 7 seats in the car and would love to have anyone go with us.  It should be a fun day ...please consider it.  If you want to feel a part of the new sign to be placed in Blaney Plaza, this is the time to come forward.


   Valentine balloons and candy will be given out this weekend by anybody who will volunteer to do it.  SVDC has ordered 110 balloons from Candy Bouquet on Big Basin.  They will be placed throughout the Village.  Saratoga Village was voted one of the most romantic spots in the Bay Area so we should reflect that in our decorations!  Email me if you are willing to help.  And don't forget to read the Love Notes by our schoolchildren and others all over the windows of the Village shops.  Many thanks to the shops for enthusiastically participating!

  We are moving ahead with Wine & Wisteria II on Sunday, April 11th.  The time of the event will be from 5 to 7:30 pm.  If you would like to volunteer to help please let me know.  Please mark your calendars to come to our evening meeting at Rose Market, 6 pm, Tuesday February 23rd.

Our plan with the funds raised at Wine & Wisteria is to put up more historic plaques on the buildings in the Village to encourage historic tourism which is a big thing these days.  With 50,000 visitors coming through the Village each year to visit Hakone as a National Trust site and the Foothill Club (National Trust) and Federated Church as Julia Morgan Architect examples and our Historic Museum (under consideration as National Trust) and the Book Go Round at the bottom of Oak as National Trust Historic Site we have a perfect opportunity to play on that theme.   If we raise enough money from the event we will also make an effort to bring music into the Village as a regular event.  This is what Saratogans have said they wanted.
