Hi everyone,
We had a large group, delicious food and interesting discussion Tuesday night at the SVDC meeting at Rose Market. There was a lot of discussion about events which everyone is beginning to realize are necessary to get people in shopping and dining in the Village, the heart of our community. Movies Saturday night in Wildwood, music in the park, a parade etc etc all came under discussion.

Thank you so much to Donna Hernandez who designed a beautiful flier listing restaurants open for lunch and the type food they serve which have been placed at the Hakone gift store and Montalvo. Requests frequently come in from visitors "where can we eat lunch" and they now will have this information at their disposal along with Village maps..

The big event we are now facing is "Savor Saratoga: Wine & Wisteria II" at Hakone, the National Trust historic Japanese Garden up Big Basin Way on Sunday, April 11 from 5 to 7:30 pm. We will sell 150 tickets at $35 ($45 the day of the event?) each to this event which will feature a silent auction with items mostly from our retail establishments, restaurants and services, wine tasting and delicious food from our over 26 restaurants in the Village. This is a Saratoga event attended mostly by Saratogans featuring our wonderful Saratoga merchants in the beautiful setting of Hakone. Funds gleaned from this event will be spent directly on the Village in the form of events, plaques, signs and banners or whatever we chose, to improve matters in the Village..last year we were able to raise $8000 part of which will be used for the Village entrance sign arriving in two weeks.

Those interested in helping at Wine & Wisteria are meeting Monday (March 1), 12 noon, Blue Rock Shoot. This meeting is for the people who are heading tickets sales, event planning, silent auction and other matters.

If you cannot come but are interested in doing something please let me know. Tickets will be arriving in the stores who offered to sell them soon along with posters advertising the event. Wineries, stores and restaurants will be approached for auction items and food..stores selling tickets are Butter Paddle, California Living (our newest store), Deja & Co., Exclamation Point.

Thank you so much for reading this and perhaps helping with Wine & Wisteria. Hope to see you Monday at Blue Rock Shoot and , of course, all ideas are welcome. Jill
