[SVDC 433] A New Plan..

Hi everyone,
  Five years ago this month the Saratoga Village Development Council was initiated (previously business council) as a networking group for the Village merchants and anyone else who cared to be involved.  Brian Berg set up the currant email system and we now have over 360 registrants on the system.
 
  The SVDC moved its meetings into the Village at that time and has held two each month in the AM, the second Tuesday and the last Tuesday.  Because of other commitments I can no longer attend the last Tuesday AM meeting so Brian and I have decided to try something else.  We would like to try having our meetings at 6pm at Hong's ( Chinese restaurant in the Village).  If people would like to eat dinner they can order it at the counter.  Each person will pay for their own.  
   Next Tuesday evening would be our first experience doing this.  Of course everyone is welcome.  At this dinner meeting next week we would be discussing the 9 events we hold in the Village each year and anything else people would like to discuss.  More information will be coming.  The second Tuesday AM meeting will remain the same.

Additional things:

   The Village is hoping to receive a grant for new LED streetlights.  There is an example of the proposed lamp in front of Rose Market.  The light is brighter and will be cheaper to run.  The poles will be painted in addition and a small clamshell design will be added to make them more attractive.

Many many thanks to The Saratoga Gallery and Cinnabar for their generous donations to the Village Gardeners.  This will enable the gardeners to keep functioning until August.
