Hi everyone,
Due to the fact that I will not be available at the usual morning SVDC meeting anymore we thought we'd try an evening meeting or "gathering" which, to me, is a better description. I've been hearing that many of you like the idea and plan to come. Not only is this a great opportunity to discuss happenings in the Village but also get to know each other. Please come and bring your spouse or a friend.
You will be paying for your own food so be prepared. SVDC does not have the funds to pay for the dinner. If this is successful other restaurants are asking to have the event so we'll see how it works.

Saratoga Love Notes will be starting on Monday; the event will be detailed in the Saratoga News next week. Four Village stores will have blank notes for people to use to write their notes. These are: Saratoga Chocolates, Candy Bouquet, The Echo Shop and the Book Go Round You can also use your own paper and return it to one of the stores. Notes can be written until February 14th and will be posted on shop windows. People will not know where their note will be posted and will have to go hunting for them.
In addition, balloons and goodies purchased by the SVDC will be given to visitors on Saturday Feb. 13th and Sunday the 14th as a reward for coming to the Village. We are hoping to get some high schoolers to volunteer for this assignment. This is a time for Saratogans to write a note to a person or place that has made a difference to them and a fun "feel good" for the community. Please talk it up and urge people to participate!

We have been given a date for our Hakone Wine & Wisteria SVDC event: April 11th, 2010. We need to discuss whether or not we go ahead with the event. It is a lot of work but absolutely beautiful at Hakone. So many thanks to Hakone for offering their world renowned garden for this exceptional event which is the one fundraiser for our Village events and banners, signs etc..
We have lost our volunteer Lantern Walk residents. Would anyone else be willing to run it? This would have been the fourth annual Lantern Walk and it was greatly loved by all.

Hope to see you all Tuesday evening. Working together we can make a difference!
                                                                                                                                                                                      Jill
