Yesterday was a huge success for our Village thanks to Marilyn Marchetti who planned the whole event. This was our fourth St. Paddy's Party under Marilyn's leadership with her faithful husband Walt at her side helping with all the tasks. It is residents such as Marilyn who volunteer their time to make our Village special and we are all so grateful!
Also thanks to Bill and Diane Brown ( wasn't she a fabulous leprechaun??) manning the cotton candy machine donated by Sereno Group!
to saintly Paul Hernandez who helps with every village event..he was up early Saturday morning putting up the stage for the Irish dancers with Bill and Walt.
to Dick Angus and daughter Dorothy who put out the balloons, magical green rocks and pennies. Dick, who is head of the City's senior group (SASCC), is always willing to help no matter what the circumstances.
to volunteers Tom Moran and Ginger Lai who came to tape the event for KSAR (local channel comcast 15 or U-Verse 99). Tape can be seen on Saratoga Spotlight, 7:30 am, 11:30 am or 4 pm..Ginger was also recruited for spreading the pennies on the sidewalk.
to wonderful Village Gardener, Loren Cook, who with her faithful dog Buddy manned the table with the goodies.
to Peggy Dozier and the Butter Paddle volunteers who had, as always, a special celebration in front of their store
to Cinnabar for their free wine tasting during the event
to all the stores and restaurants who did something a little special during the event
to the SVDC for paying for Bruce the bagpiper and our fabulous free balloon lady who for almost three hours made the most spectacular penguins, flowers, robots, spacemen..you name it, she did it. What a talent! No wonder the line was so long for her works of art!
to Ashley and Amid Joshi, students at Saratoga High and Redwood, we couldn't have survived without them they were such a help.
to all others who stepped in to momentarily help, thanks so much.

Please don't forget that we will have a Wine & Wisteria II meeting this Tuesday(March 16th) 12 noon, at Blue Rock Shoot which will then convene at Hakone, our incredible local Japanese National Register garden, to work on site planning. The amount of effort that goes into Wine & Wisteria is enormous.. and it is all done by residents who want our Village to be a success and, of course, our merchants who support us! This fundraiser pays for all the other events held by the SVDC plus the beautification efforts throughout the Village. Please consider supporting Wine & Wisteria by buying a ticket even if you cannot come. The money makes such a difference to our Village. To see the children enjoy the St. Paddy's Day event yesterday was really special. These are the memories that make our children love their growing up experience and remember Saratoga with a happy heart.

Final reminder: Persian New Year in the Village this Tuesday evening. Lots of festivities and fun will be on Big Basin Way.

Also, our SVDC gathering dinner to discuss current happenings in the Village will be Tuesday evening, March 30, 6pm at the Trattoria (Florentines) next to Hong's. Check our web site for more information..www.saratogavillage.info.

If you know anyone who would like to join this list let us know. After all, the better informed we all are, the better off our City will be! Jill
