Hi everyone,
Wine & Wisteria is only a few weeks away. The committee of volunteer residents is working hard to see that it is a success. We were thrilled to add Kathryn Kennedy wines to our list of fine wineries supporting our event. Almost all the restaurants are planning on donating finger foods to the event as they have in the past; many are also donating dinners for two or more for the silent auction. Our retail stores, salons, and spas are also enthusiastically donating wonderful silent auction items as are many of the services located in the Village. Many businesses outside our area have seen our advertisements and are reaching us to donate. It is a great way to get your name out there.
What we need most of all now is increased ticket sales. Tickets are for sale at the Butter Paddle, Skin Prophecy Boutique, the new Michael Anthony Salon, Cinnabar Tasting room, and ME Benson's Antiques all on Big Basin. I also have a stack in my purse so you can just ask me when you see me. Tickets are $35 each and well worth it! That is down $10 from this same event held for the last five years. By the way, we will not be able to have credit cards at the event unless someone would be willing to add their social security and address to the account.
Remember, 100% of the funds obtained from this event go into the beautification of the Village and bigger and better events. Everything you see and like about the Village has most probably been a result of this yearly fundraiser.
Even if you cannot come Sunday, April 11th at Hakone ( just a short distance above the Village) please buy a ticket to support our Village.
If you CAN come you will relax with some of our finest wines, eat food from our wonderful restaurants and bid on some great items all the time enjoying the smell of the glorious wisteria, the view and listening to the sounds of the garden waterfall and classical guitar. When the sun sets Hakone is at its most beautiful. Typically visitors don't get to see this. Dinner in the Village is a perfect ending to a perfect day.
Please, buy a ticket now. You won't want to miss this. Last year the Mercury News listed Wine & Wisteria as the event to go to that weekend. Don't find yourself saying " I wish I had gone" and have to wait a year! Jill
