Hi everyone,
  It looks as though we brought in approximately $5500 from Wine & Wisteria which is a miracle considering the weather.  If for some reason you feel you weren't sufficiently thanked please let me say you are greatly appreciated and we promise you will see the results of the efforts..  

 Now that we have put in our entrance sign, our 4 historic plaques, our various light pole banners and our Village maps, we need to discuss what next.  When the City completes its million dollar Village project starting in June and ending in November, we can reassess our needs.  For instance a kiosk, to be part of Turkey Track La.,  will be part of the City plan.  That was one of the things people have been requesting.  Also new signs and improved news racks will be included in the City plan.  

  We have three dance events on Big Basin this summer..the Red House rock 'n roll band that made a big hit at the Mustard Fair in March will return on Heritage Day, June 19th from 3-5 pm.  Keane and West,  the two piece dance band will come back for their third appearance on Saturday July 17th and Bollywood, put on by our Saratoga Youth will be August 21st.  SVDC will be paying for those three bands and DJ's.  

At the meeting on Tuesday evening May 24th we will discuss how we spend additional money in our account( approximately $10,000 at this point).  There is a big need for a portable sound system, sadly lacking at the Pet Parade.  More historic plaques have been suggested.  We have 8 historic buildings and only 4 plaques.  I frequently see tourists and residents reading the plaques and discussing the history as I tour the Village.  Many have said how much they like them.

Helping the Village Gardeners with some funds has been discussed but we are pleased to say that the VG have received some nice donations lately.  There is not quite the need that there was before. Also, the City plan includes flowers and pots along Big Basin at the corners to be developed.

So please consider coming to the networking session Tuesday evening 6pm, Blue Rock.  Get something to eat and let's convene downstairs.  There's lots to talk about. If you have ideas but cannot come please email me beforehand.  Thanks. Jill
