<html><head><style type="text/css"><!-- DIV {margin:0px;} --></style></head><body><div style="font-family:tahoma, 'new york', times, serif;font-size:14pt;color:#000000;"><div>Hi everyone,</div><div> I have been attempting to walk around and speak to the restaurants and stores about Savor Saratoga: Wine & Wisteria II on Sunday, April 11th. </div><div><br></div><div>As you might recall from last year, this event at Hakone netted us over $8000 to be used during the year to hold events, beautify the Village with historic plaques and banners and to design and purchase the distinctive new Village entrance sign, to be placed in Blaney Plaza in the next few weeks. These funds have made an enormous difference to our Village. Residents of Saratoga who feel that the success of the Village is important have volunteered and run all these events plus much more and can feel proud of their accomplishments..</div><div><br></div><div>We need
from our merchants in the Village, silent auction items, including certificates for dinner at our fine restaurants and items from our stores. All donations will be acknowledged and celebrated at the event and in local newspapers. We also will need hors d'oeuvres (finger foods) from our 26 restaurants to be served at the event itself. This participation also will be noted at the event itself. In addition we are hoping that , when the event ends at 7:30pm, people will go into the village to have dinner. As you know Hakone is right at the end of Big Basin so many will be coming back down through the Village. Your generosity in the past has been phenomenal and I know you will participate this year too. As I recall there was only one business in the village that did not participate last year and that was a national chain.</div><div><br></div><div>If you are a resident of Saratoga and would like to donate an item we
would certainly appreciate that also. Last year our silent auction had approximately 80 items and we will be taking credit cards this year for the first time. In addition service providers might find new customers if they donate a service at the auction.</div><div><br></div><div>A special thanks to the Saratoga Oaks Lodge and the Inn at Saratoga for their immediate donations to the silent auction. Also to Donna Hernandez and her beading group who are donating lovely necklaces etc. for the auction.</div><div><br></div><div>With the funds obtained this year we envision additional bronze plaques on the historic buildings, bigger and better events and more flowers and/banners along the street..</div><div><br></div><div>Please email me or Brian Berg if you have an item for the auction and let us know, if you are a restaurant, what your hors d'oeuvres will be.
